Itchy, Smelly and Losing Hair?

Hello readers,

Re: What is Itchy, Smelly and Losing Hair?

//////////////////////////////////////////////

Hello fellow readers and involved pet people!!

I have been seeing allergic dogs and cats ALL by the
bucketloads.

These are one UNHAPPY pets.

Itchy..all the time

Hair Loss and Skin Infections

Oil, greasy haircoats.

Excessive paw licking and anal licking.

Often with an unpleasant odor.

All in all, allergies are increasingly common- for you as
a concerned pet guardian, you should be most concerned with
PREVENTING these in the first place.

So WHAT can you do to prevent these from happening??

1. DIET....Think Natural and Simple. If you wouldn't eat
it, then don't feed it to your dog or cat.

If you are using commercial food, choose a Natural diet with
a simple animal protein as the primary ingredient.

I like Fish for dogs, and Chicken or Turkey for cats.

Make some of your own food. I have sent many recipes.

Try some of the RAW diets.

The key is not exposing your dog or cat to common allergens,
such as food coloring, preservatives, etc in the first place.

2. GOOD parasite control. Make sure that your dog or cat
doesn't have to deal with reapeated Flea or Lice bites.

3. Vaccines..they sensitize your dog or cat's immune system
to potentially over-react and develop allergies. In a nutshell,
as few and as infrequent as possible.

4. Supplements. I am advising a QUALITY essential Fatty Acid
supplement- Ground Flax for dogs, and Fish Oil for cats.

Surgery for Bone Cancer?

Re: Surgery for Bone Cancer?

//////////////////////////////////////////////

A cheery Wednesday to you all!!

I came back from vacation to a pile of work, including
having to amputate a dog's leg due to a tumor.

It was a type of bone cancer, and Jack was no longer
able to walk.
He was an older dog (10 years) so the decision to remove
his leg was a difficult one for his guardian....and
controversial.

What would you do?

It's not an easy decision..

Anesthetic and surgery has risks, although Jack did well
with surgery.

Then there is the recovery time after having a major
surgery.

The Cost is another factor.

Would you put your dog through this?

If Jack had not had surgery, then he would likely have been
euthanized later this week.

My point of all of this is that it is NEVER a black and
white decision, and you have to weigh in all of the
factors.

Is this the BEST choice for Jack?..I don't know, and
it ultimately depends if the cancer has spread, and he
has is able to live the remainder of his life pain
free.

I would love to hear your comments on this.

P.S. Clearly the BEST thing is to do ALL that you can to
AVOID cancer.

Diet

Limited to NO Vaccines

Regular Exercise

Avoiding TOXINS
